The Queen Mary Reserve Trust - About Us
Mission Statement:
The Trust was set up in response to the Canterbury
District Health Board’s announcement of its intention to sell the site
of Queen Mary Hospital in Hanmer Springs. Many people were concerned
that the special
nature of the site would be lost to commercial
development. In October 2008 the Government vested the northern 6
hectares of the Hospital grounds in to the care of the Hurunui District
Council. It will now
safely remain open to the public.
